St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center; the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge and the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission; Devil's Hole State Park; the Tuscarora Indian Nation; the stretch of the I-190 from the Town of Niagara, NY to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge; and a stretch of the Robert Moses State Parkway along the Niagara River.

The New York Power Authority's Niagara Power Project is the Power Authority's largest and most successful of NYPA's plants.  When the Niagara project produced its first power in 1961, it was the largest hydropower facility in the Western electricity saves the state's residents and businesses hundreds of millions of dollars a world at the time. Today, Niagara is the biggest electricity producer in New York State, generating 2.4 million kilowatts—enough power to light 24 million 100-watt bulbs at once! This low-cost year.  In 2006, the Power Authority completed a $300-million upgrade and modernization at the project’s Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant. All 13 turbines have been replaced and other improvements were made to generating equipment in the power dam, enabling the project to operate at maximum efficiency well into the 21st century.  The Power Vista features more than 50 interactive exhibits that invite visitors of all ages to have a completely hands-on experience as they learn about hydroelectricity and the historic role it has played in the Niagara Frontier.

Niagara University, a Catholic Vincentian University of over 3,500 students, sits south of the NYPA Power Project and is the single largest recipient of the Upper Mountain's services, averaging over 250 calls a year.  Founded in 1856 by the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) Niagara University was first chartered in 1861 as a seminary. In 1883, Niagara was rechartered as a university for “the instruction of youth in the learned languages and in the liberal and useful arts and sciences.” In the years since its founding, NU has retained this tradition of emphasis on both the liberal and useful arts and sciences while it has grown into a mid-sized university of approximately 2,600 undergraduates, 800 graduate students, and about 750 students enrolled in continuing and community education.  The 160-acre campus runs along the top of picturesque Monteagle Ridge overlooking the Niagara River gorge just four miles north of the world-famous waterfall. The location of the campus is adjacent to the international border between the United States and Canada.  Upper Mountain Fire Company also supports Niagara University's Athletic Department by providing EMS services for home sporting events for Men and Women's Basketball at the Gallagher Center, Men and Women's Hockey at Dwyer Arena, and transport services for Niagara's other sports teams as needed.  Upper Mountain also provides assistance to NU's other department including Campus Activities during New Student Orientation and Niagara University Student Government Association (NUSGA) for large concert events.  Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M. is Niagara University's President and Ed McLaughlin is the Athletic Director.

The Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, one of three bridges in Niagara County that connects the US and Canada, is also located in Upper Mountain's response area.  It is the only bridge in Western New York that allows for the transportation of hazardous materials.  The Lewiston-Queenston Bridge crosses the Niagara River gorge just south of the Niagara Escarpment.  The bridge was officially opened on November 1, 1962.  It connects Interstate 190 in the town of Lewiston, New York to Highway 405 in the village of Queenston, Ontario.  The Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is a replica of the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls. Customs plazas are located on both ends of the bridge and two duty-free stores are located between the two plazas.  Along with the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission which operates the bridge along with the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge and Rainbow Bridge.  The Bridge Commission is located near the base of the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge in Lewiston.

Devil's Hole State Park provides access to the gorge and the Lower Niagara River.  It is located in Lewiston, NY at the southwestern most part of Upper Mountain's District bordering the City of Niagara Falls.  It sits between the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge and the New York State Power Authority's Robert Moses Pump Plant.  Devil's Hole State Park overlooks the lower Whirlpool rapids.  A wildly beautiful walkway leads down from the park along the turbulent Niagara River 300 feet into the wooded gorge and offers an up-close, spectacular view of the gorge's rapids.  Devil's Hole has picnic areas, hiking, and nature trails.  In addition, Devil's Hole features a number of caves that can be explored by visitors.  It is one of the most popular spots for fishermen.  Devil's Hole gets its name from the Devil's Hole Massacre during the French and Indian War on September 14, 1763, also giving name to a nearby stream called Bloody Run, which ran red with the blood of British soldiers forces off the cliffs by Seneca Indians.  Devil's Hole provides a unique challenge to Upper Mountain responders called for wildfires and to injuries in the gorge.  Many rescues have been conducted in Devil's Hole in cooperation with the Lewiston Fire Company #1, Niagara Falls Fire Dept., State Parks Police, and US Border Patrol.

The Upper Mountain Fire Company is also one of five fire companies that provides fire, rescue, and EMS services to the Tuscarora Indian Nation. The Tuscarora, or as they say, "SKARU:RE" are known as "The People of the Shirt" or the "Hemp Gatherers", as well as, Haudenosaunee: "People of the Longhouse."  They were the Sixth Nation to join the Iroquois Confederacy along with the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca.  Historically, the Tuscarora were located in what today is called North Carolina.  After the Tuscarora Wars between 1711-1713 with European settlers, the Tuscarora we forced to migrate for survival.  Eventually, their migration brought them to New York as they sough shelter under the Great Tree of Peace of the Iroquois Confederacy in 1772.  Their migration came to an end in 1803 through negotiations with the Seneca and US government purchases form the Holland-Land Company, the Tuscarora were able to settle in their current lands of approximately 5,700 acres near the Niagara River.  Upper Mountain's protection of the Tuscarora Nation begins just east of Callan Dr. where Cleghorn Dr. borders the Reservation.  Upper Mountain's District continues north down Indian Hill to Ridge Rd./Rt. 104, east on Upper Mountain Rd. just past Garlow Rd, and also south on Garlow Rd. on the bend near the intersection of Upper Mountain and Garlow Roads.  Included on the Reservaton in Upper Mountain's District are two large gas stations and holding stations, and a tobacco manufacturing plant.

The Upper Mountain Fire Company is responsible for the section of the NY I-190 in both the north and southbound directions from the Town of Niagara, NY to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge.  The I-190 is also referred to as the, Niagara Expressway, and is governed and maintained by the New York State Department of Transportation.  The I-190 terminates at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge and gives way to Highway 405 in Canada which connects to the QEW, Queen Elizabeth's Way.  Upper Mountain's protection of the I-190 begins in the area of Exit 24 - Rt. 31/Witmer Road and continues to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge.  This stretch of the I-190 separates the New York Power Authority Reservoir and the NYPA Forebay, and borders the NYPA power field.

The Robert Moses State Parkway is located along the Niagara River and is designated New York State Reference Route 957A by the NYSDOT.  It is named after Robert Moses, the "master builder" of New York who led the construction of the New York Power Authority among other projects in the state.  The southern terminus is at an interchange with Interstate 190 and the LaSalle Expressway on the east bank of the Niagara River east of downtown Niagara Falls and the northern terminus is at New York State Route 18 at Four Mile Creek State Park in Porter.  Upper Mountain covers the area of the Robert Moses from the pedestrian bridge at Devil's Hole to the area just north of the base of the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge.  This section of the Robert Moses runs along the NYPA Robert Moses Pump Plant.  Currently, restoration efforts to the Dam face and other construction to the Robert Moses Pump Plant has caused portions of the Robert Moses Parkway to be rerouted and not all original exits are passable.
